About

Hello there, my name is Patrick Hamilton. I own and run a diverse small produce operation located in Miami Manitoba. I am very passionate and interested about growing various vegetables, fruits and herbs as well as making honey and syrup. I am also taking part in the CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) program. I do not currently own any machinery nor use inorganic pesticides and I strive to use sustainable and environmentally safe production practices.

I have completed my Agricultural Diploma and my Agricultural Degree with a major in Agronomy at the University of Manitoba. I have been working with vegetables since I was 15, started producing honey in 2014 and will start more heavily into syrup and fruit production in the following years. I do all business planning and management  myself along with a lot of the labor. My mother helps me out on the vegetable side and my father with the beekeeping. They are both heavily involved in the syrup production as well.
I plan on incorporating many of the scientific aspects of my work into my blog posts but mostly I want to have fun and share my experiences. I hope to connect more with people interested in these areas of horticulture and apiculture and perhaps exchange information or tips. If you have any questions or just want to chat, don’t be afraid to email me. Cheers to a great upcoming season!
